Yoursellf is a small number of things that connect. Once you know them, the panels make sense.
Your site
Site. Yours, at your own address. One design. Everything below lives on it. Signing up.
Page. A page of writing on your site. Your front page is the one people land on. You can add as many as you want. Pages and posts.
Post. A page that belongs to a collection.
Collection. A named, ordered group of posts. Place it on any page and it shows as a list that updates itself. It works like a blog.
Selling your time
Offer. A named block of your time with a price. "Five hours, $625." It can show on your site, or live only at its own link. Offers can be grouped, and a group can be placed on a page. Offers.
Rate. Your hourly rate. Offers take their price from it unless you give one its own price. Your rate.
Purchase. Someone buys an offer by card, on your site. The money goes to your own Stripe account. They get a receipt, not an account.
Client. Everyone who buys becomes a client. You can also add one by hand. Clients and balances.
Balance. The hours a client has in hand. Buying adds to it. Logging time takes from it. It can go below zero, and that is flagged.
Doing the work
To-do. One thing to do for one client. Each client has a list, and there is one list of everything. To-dos.
Timer. Runs against a client while you work. Stopping it logs the time to their balance, with a note. A to-do can start it. The timer.
History. Every hour, purchase and correction, newest first. Entries are corrected, never deleted. History.
How they fit together
- Your site holds your pages. Some pages are posts in a collection.
- An offer on a page is bought in a purchase, which makes a client with a balance.
- You plan the work as to-dos, do it on the timer, and the hours come off the balance.
- History is the record of all of it.
