Getting started

Editing your front page

You edit the page where it is. There is no admin area.

Press Edit

Log in and go to your address. Press Edit in the corner. The page turns into an editor right where it is. Same type, same width. Nothing moves.

Start typing. A small toolbar appears above the text. It shows what kind of line you are on, and gives you a link. Bold is ⌘B and italic is ⌘I (Ctrl on Windows). Add puts other things in: an image, a video or a recording, a form, your offers, a collection of posts, a divider.

The pages under this one go through each part: adding text, what to say, adding links, and adding images, video and audio.

What is on it to begin with

A new site starts with three sentences to finish. What you fix. Who you fix it for. What happens after somebody buys. Replace the words in square brackets. What to say goes through each one.

Under the sentences are three blocks of your time: an hour, two hours, half a day. The prices come from your rate. Only you can see them until you connect Stripe. That way there is never a Purchase button on your site that does not work.

Under those is a form: name, email, and what they need. When somebody fills it in, you get an email. Reply goes straight back to them. They also show up on your client list with a to-do to reply. You can add another form to any page with Add → Form.

Saving

Your work is kept as a draft while you type. If you close the tab by mistake, you lose nothing. Visitors keep seeing the last saved version until you press Save.

  • Save puts what is on screen live.
  • Cancel throws the draft away. The live page does not change.

If your connection drops, or you get logged out, your typing is kept in this browser. It comes back the next time you press Edit. If the page is open in two tabs, the older tab says so instead of saving over the newer one.

If a save goes wrong

Every save keeps the version it replaced. A draft is kept too, when you press Cancel and every ten minutes while you write. The clock button next to Save lists them all, newest first. Pick one and it opens in the editor as your draft. Nothing changes on the live page until you save.
